not even a minute from leaving my Dad's house. and wait.. WHAT? whats that giant thing?
is it a lost puppy???!
of course I stop the car. being the animal lover that I am.. I don't think it would be possible for me to possibly see something and drive off..
its a...
its a..
it starts walking...
OH MY GOODNESS!! ITS A PORCUPINE!!
if you know me .. I'm sure you can very well imagine my thrill and excitement
i quickly turned the car off as well as the headlights
the radio is turned off IMMEDIATELY
my new not so little pal realizes that I am no harm and hangs out in the middle of the road.
i get out my handy iphone and attempt to photograph him.. he's to far away.. and its dark outside..
I..
being me...
get out of the car
and start talking to the porcupine as I would to my puppies
"well hi there you cutie!! common over here!"
and so he did.
we had a really magical moment.. and I realized that I am experiencing A NEW KIND OF LOVE
his cute little white face,
his friendliness...
HIS WADDLE
oh boy!
I decided not to push this new friendship and get back in the car (sigh) and when I turned back on my car lights he knew it was time to go and continued his way across the street.I honestly talked to myself as well as squealing, giggling, and who knows what other sounds.. my whole drive home. I just didn't know what to do with myself.
while trying to tell Aryk, I was out of breathe just from being full of so much thrill, and couldn't help but do anything but curl up into a ball and smile a smile bigger than my face.
we looked up porcupine videos, to educate ourselves more about them.. I saw this.. and I now I am sad I left the porcupine when I did.. cause clearly this is what our friendship would have looked like if we got closer to one another
