its not just a blog being all "oh look how cute he is" and just pictures of my motherly love thinking he is the best and better than all other cats that have ever existed.
its more of a blog of confusion about cats..
for I have never owned a cat, nor have I ever really had really a friendship with cats.
Mr. Chops who lives up stairs yes.
but he sits beside me and I give him a pet
and he hangs out..
but he's not super cuddly and up to bizarre things

90 years of cuteness
It was aryks great grandma's birthday a few weekends ago. So we all piled in the suvs braved the cold and trailed out to Brooks to spend the weekend in celebration. I'm honored that I got to be apart of the family get together. And man there was a lot of family! So much family that neither aryk or his sister really knew who most people there was!
Some things I really enjoyed were:
-hearing that the very community center we were celebrating at was where Aryks Nana went to school. This community hall was over a hundred years old and has been very well taken care of!
-The tables set up around the room all had a picture on the table of great grandma Jenny when she was a young adult. I love that kind of stuff!! I also felt my heart get super happy seeing everyone go around looking at the pictures and sharing stories about who was in the photos and what was going on. Though as I'm sure you would have guessed.. the best was seeing the bliss and excitement on grandma Jenny's face looking at the pictures.
-There was also a chair in the corner which they had grandma Jenny sit In During the family photos (I was on some of these family photos.. Which is a tad awkward.. What if aryk and I break up??! Aryks sister says then she will just tell people I'm the long lost cousin) now no one told the story of this chair she was sitting on.. But it was old and worn down.. And I could tell there was significance and a story to it.
-We got to watch a slide show that brought up many memories to everyone. Lots of laughs and story sharing. Was very special. I greatly enjoyed seeing all the vintage antique things.. As well as the fact I love pretty much every photo from that time era (minus the one where Nanas brother was shooting a bird and the camera caught the bird in the air while falling to its death)
And to even more excitement!! Watching videos!! Including Nana and Tatas wedding. Aryks mom and aunts growing up. Parades and cats playing. Boy I'm so fortunate so have gotten to see these!!
After it was all done we all braved the cold again and went out to the farm which is also a hundred years or so which grandma Jenny still lives in. Annnd we got to play with little kittens.
At night the rest of the family all went and stayed at a hotel. But aryk and I got to stay at a little duplex with nana and Tata in town. It's grandma Jenny's as well, but she never stays there. It's super cute and total granny style! Floral everything! I wanted to go around and take photos to show you my bloggers all this floral and how truly amazing it was.. But I didn't have time. So hopefully another time.
I also fell in love with the antiques in the duplex.. Including the old in perfect condition beautiful suitcase.
Oh! And of course a major highlight was the drive home with aryks aunts where we got to listen to a cd of farting noises :)

Today is jonny Mah's birthday
But I didn't see him.
However
Aryk and I went on a walk
Played on swing sets
Practiced jumping off swing sets (Aryk yes jumped higher, but I landed on my feet every time and he did not)
Made cornmeal muffins
Went to a chili cook off where we tried 7 different chilis
And watched UFC
.. Man was it bloody
And played with new born kittens

Injection in the arm
Every Autumn a full year goes by which means that I get my annual physical every year in Autumn at this time of year.
the unfortunate thing about this... is that it is AUTUMN that I have my physical.
meaning what exactly?
meaning it is flu season!
yes.. that means that I have to sit in a waiting room full of people with more sickness than usual and NOT wearing the face masks that the front counter suggests if you are coughing and sniffling.
but really thats not the bad part about the annual autumn doctors appointment..
it means..
that no matter how hard it is that I try to say no and stand my ground
that..
I get suckered and convinced to..
get my flu shot.
uggggggghhhh
arm pain = 3 days
I just had the flu for a few days earlier so I think I'm over it for the season..
AND get sick all the time this time of year so really I don't feel as though getting a flu shot makes much of a difference... other than now I have arm pain for a few days and can't sleep on my right side.
But my doctor tells me this tragic story about her getting the flu when she was in university and how she strongly suggests the shot for the flu ruined her life for a period of time.
tragic. But I'm glad it gives my nurse friends happiness..
I seriously keep having eventful things for me to blog about.
but SERIOUSLY every time I sit down to write this cute little kitten King Arthur crawls onto the computer.. turns on the music cranks it up loud and then presses buttons and I don't know enough about computers to know what buttons to press to turn it back to normal..
also! my photo album on my phone is full.. so its going to be picture overload for a bit while I try to clear about my album.. (SO DIFFICULT!! I clear it yes.. but then there are so many things to take photos of I just end up back from the beginning!)
so..
be zen people.. I'll be back to telling entertaining stories in no time.
like how I had a dream about Justin Bieber and I having best friendship for 2 nights in a row now.

Real life
Yep it's true!! Tyler's amazing artwork isn't just amazing on the Internet but amazing in real life as well!! (Actually x10 even more amazing)
pretty much the cold weather scares all.
we went to the zoo today and most of the animals were hiding out indoors.
HOWEVER
major highlights
the penguins.
we got to see the penguins eating!!
we got to play with a gorilla through the glass.. until a whole school came into the room.
the baby tigers were playing up a storm
the wolves came and hung out with us
Aryk is thrilled that he fed a Bison... and TOUCHED A PENGUIN
(which is forbidden)
just fun fun! it was nice that the weather is meh and that its a week day. more zoo to ourselves!
and he says he enjoyed my animal connections..
Oh! and I also enjoyed just spending the day with Aryk in general. (ha bet he'll wish he said that)
Oh! and if you ask a question about why the penguin stuft animals? when I was a kid. My dearest friends Janine, Allison and I would bring those penguins EVERYWHERE! and since the penguins are new to the Calgary zoo.. it was a must!
