Compote

I marched out into the garden and snatched me some Rhubarb. I know that you can make things with it.. and I know that because it is a VEGETABLE that grows and grows and doesn't need any maintenance.. that I should see if I can be a cute housewife and make something with it!


Strawberry Rhubarb Compote! Is what I did. (simple simple simple! and because every other recipe I looked up.. we didn't have A ingredients to make it.. so the search continued.. till I found something that only needed brown sugar.. orange juice.. annnnnd Rhubarb. the strawberries were my own special touch. oooo what a handy wise person in the kitchen I am!)


so far.. I've realise its amazing and super great on your yogurt, mixed with fruit, dipping your toast into.. and soon.. I will realised how good it tastes on ice-cream! 


for some reason Rhubarb always reminds me of my Nannie.. would someone in my family like to inform me of the reason why? or is it just because her name was 'Barbra' and it would be like RU-Barb?and the fact that when I was little there would always be big giant ugly rhubarb plants in her garden.. which did not make sense to me WHY someone would have those in her garden cause they are so ugly?
things from the garden is awesome.. and should be valued! and appreciated!!!! it also makes your kitchen smell really nice therefore.. I'm going to be 'jammin this coming fall.. and I WILL LOVE IT!!
